From Now On
Inspired by the song *From Now On*, this colored-pencil series reflects on family, distance, and the quiet passage of time. Created in response to the loss of my grandfather and the aging of my grandmother, the work honors a generation of rural farmers displaced by rapid urbanization whose stories and emotional lives often remain unseen. Returning to colored pencils—the first art materials my grandmother gifted me as a child—I use their simplicity and warmth to evoke memory, gratitude, and belonging. Through these intimate scenes, the series becomes both a tribute to her enduring love and an attempt to preserve fleeting moments before they fade into silence.
