Created for the 2nd anniversary of SundAI Foundation—an MIT and Harvard-born AI hackathon community—this illustration reflects the uncertainty experienced by engineers, designers, and artists navigating layoffs and the rapid rise of AI. Drifting sea creatures suspended in a surreal sky symbolize collective anxiety, resilience, and the search for direction amid change. The work intentionally embraces a distinctly human aesthetic, reinforcing the belief that while technology evolves rapidly, its purpose must remain human. Designed as a flexible key visual, the illustration was adapted across event posters, pitch decks, promotional materials, and on-site installations.
